The Certification system awards 3 types of certificates: Track & Sign, Trailing, and Tracker.
The Track & Sign Certification is a measure of a participants ability to identify and interpret animal tracks and sign in the field. The Trailing Certification measures one’s ability to follow and find animals using their tracks. The Tracker certificates are awarded to those with both a Track and Sign and Trailing certificate. The Tracker level awarded is the is the lower of the two certificates. For example, if a student has a Track & Sign Level 2 and a Trailing Level 1 certificate, they will receive a Tracker Level 1 certificate. The Senior Tracker certificate is the highest certificate that can be earned by means of a practical evaluation, and is issued once a participant has achieved 100% (Specialist) in both Track & Sign Interpretation and Trailing.
