New Senior Tracker and Track and Sign Evaluator in the Northern Rockies, USA

Congratulations to Luke Lamar in earning his Senior Tracker Certificate in northwest Montana after completing his Trailing Specialist evaluation with evaluator David Moskowitz and external evaluator Nate Harvey in the Swan Valley of Montana. Watch a video of Luke on trail following a grizzly bear here.

Luke was born and raised in Swan Valley, Montana USA where he spent his youth roaming the woods and connecting with nature. Luke was introduced to tracking informally by growing up as hunter, following deer and elk around Montana. Luke began tracking professionally in 2011, as a field technician on the Southwest Crown of the Continent Rare Carnivore Monitoring Project. Tracking wolverine and lynx distribution through snow track surveys and genetic collection, Luke later took this project over and currently continues to lead this landscape-scale effort. Luke is co-Managing Director at the conservation/education nonprofit Swan Valley Connections, where in addition to overseeing its conservation programs, teaches wildlife track and sign and trailing classes. Luke has a B.S. in wildlife biology from the University of Montana. Luke has been involved with Cybertracker since 2013, when he took his first tracks and sign certification. Luke earned his Track and Sign Specialist certification in 2021.

Also this June, Luke completed his training as a Track and Sign Evaluator for Cybertacker and is now available to teach track and sign certifications in the northern Rockies.
