Congratulations to Mark Kang-O’Higgins for earning a Track and Sign Specialist certification this past weekend on an evaluation in the Puget Sound region of Washington. Mark is the lead instructor for Wilderness Awareness School’s Wildlife Tracking Intensive Program as well as a professional artist who runs the Kang-O’Higgins Atelier, an artist training program through the Gage Academy of Art in Seattle Washington.
The evaluation spent a day in coastal rainforest on the western slope of the Cascades Mountains and a second day close to the mouth of the Stillaguamish River by the Salish Sea. Participants were challenged with that ranged from spider tracks in dust to an old bear den in the base of a large western hemlock tree. Several other participants in the evaluation were very close as well and we look forward to seeing them all again on a future evaluation soon!
